Radical Dharma

Dear Sangha,

Our third selection is up for study! We will be reading Section One of Radical Dharma, by Williams, Owens, and Sydullah. Radical Dharma's "urgent call to action outlines a new dharma that takes into account the ways that racism and privilege prevent our collective awakening." For many Buddhists, there seems to be a failure to notice or acknowledge concerns of racial inequality within the practice, which pours into our everyday lives. It's interesting to see how topics of race, and gender, are overlooked by practitioners, seeking a form of "spiritual" comfort, while they recite gathas or sutras that propose Enlightenment or serving all beings. I wish everyone would read this book. It lends perspective, and particularly reveals a hidden world to those sheltered by privilege.

The book can be found anywhere (I found mine online)! We hope you join us this Thursday. Remember, the Zoom link for programs from Mondays through Thursdays remain the same. For your convenience, a link can be found below. See you then!

With the sincerest heart,
- Anzan
